The
BC government plan to reopen River View to care for those with mental
illness and addiction problems is a bandaid solution to a truly
massive problem. It is, as I suspected, actually another real estate
scam with the old private public promise of geared to income housing
which it won't in any case deliver (Remember the Olympic Village
boondoggle) .
The
City government has suddenly woken up to the destruction of China
Town which is already a done deal with massive condo buildings at
Keefer and Main and another at Gore and Keefer applauded by the Mayor
and they Council while cash registers ring in their off shore
accounts.
Its
pension day and I will be off to pay my bills and book my Xmas dinner
at the Hotel Vancouver on Xmas eve and then off to Burrard and Davie
for my monthly haircut. Will do my Costco run tomorrow.
