SOMETIMES ITS BETTER TO BE ALONE

SOMETIMES BEING ALONE AIN'T SO BAD

JOURNAL ENTRY, 20/12/2015, 07:07 hrs., PST, Sunday, my place, 3°C, sunny, MOOD 50/50

The plans for today have gone sideways. Due to illness the planed visit of my daughter and family to Ian's place will not happen. So I will have to rely on two separate phone calls. One at 11:00 hrs today for Ian and Maithe and one on Xmas morning to Heather, Eloi, and the grand children.

Its been a very stressful week with one of my friends going completely off his rocker and reduced to screaming in the street

joining the other poor souls getting more and more desperate and there being no facilities to help them.

The current provincial government has finally decided that the experiment of releasing six thousand mental patients back to to their old residents didn't work too well being as all the facilities to provide them with out patient help was in the DTES or the SKID'S (as we used to call it) which had its own massive problems with alcohol and drugs.

They have decided to re-open RIVERVIEW to deal with the problem of addiction and mental illness. I smell a rat though in that the rest of the massive facility has been put into the hands of private developers with bogus promises of geared to income housing and to free up the DTES for more gentrification.

The Federal government has yet to unveil its housing policy for all those cuts to federal money for housing that Paul Martin cut while Finance Minister fighting the deficit. I don't expect that this will happen with housing being definitely in the hands of the corporations and the banks.

The drizzle had ceased, at least for the moment, so will post this on the blog.
