GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP

GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP

JOURNAL ENTRY, 07/01/2016, 05:20 hrs., pst. Thursday, my place, all cleaned up, 3°C foggy, MOOD 60/40

Shine on you crazy Diamond, Pink Floyd, Wish you were here on the sound track, the tune I use to get off when I'm mediating. First Coffee already on, read myself to sleep with many more hours to go in this months Harper's which I got yesterday while searching for a current copy of the Paris Review.

The Canucks won last night and actually played a very good game except for some sloppy play in the second period.

Then went to bed and my latest Harper's and actually cried when I read the piece about Doctor assisted suicide. Then fell asleep at approximately 22:30 hrs. to some REM but later a deep sleep and awoke at 05:10 hrs. feeling refreshed.

Fired up my computer and discovered that the unwanted artifacts had disappeared. iTunes on the sound track and I have
my computer stereo on at about 5 on the gain and have put on the FM headphones so the neighbours can grab some extra nods.

They are busy tearing up the street across from the alley at the corner of Powell and Main which causes the fire station to take it to Hastings and Main for the parade of ODs so perhaps that's why I had a very good night sleep.

I got the get well card off to old comrade John Shavchook who is recovering from having a spinal fusion done on the vertebrae in his neck.

John was one of the guys who stood up with me when I married Anna May 19th March 1960 at the Protestant Chapel at Currie Barracks in Calgary.

Ciao, JWL
