SLEEPLESS
IN VANCOUVER
28/02/2016,
01:36, PST, Sunday, my place, 5°C
drizzle , MOOD 40/60 in pain
After
two nights of no sleep and considerable pain I finally took myself to
Emergency at St. Paul's. They xRayed the shoulder and filled me full
of pain killers and I got temporary relief.
Their
diagnosis was that I had what they called something about a knot in
the muscle called a pinched nerve which they couldn't do anything
except proscribe painkillers and perhaps cortisone shots when I see
my GP.
Missed
calling Ian, (was in the hospital) and they want you to keep your
phone turned off, Anyway, Happy Birthday Ian.
Talked
to Heather in the early afternoon and she wants to make my 80th
a big deal. So will work on a guest list and possible site depending
on how many RSVP. It was good to hear from her and Eloi and Maya and
of course The Dude.
The
pain is down to dull roar and I had a piece of chicken pot pie and a
chocolate chip cookie and a glass of V8 juice and watched part of a
hockey game, Ian's team beat Calgary and watched part of Foyle's War
but gave it up half way through because I'd seen it before.
Put
my head down and fell asleep only to wake up with a start when I
rolled on the bad arm so took some more pain killers and wrote this
blog.
