CARNAGE
JOURNAL
ENTRY,22/03/2016, 19:19 hrs., PDT, Tuesday, my place, 19°C
drizzle, Mood 40/60
Its
not often that I let events on the other side of the world affect my
mood. The bombings in Brussels by a group of religious fanatics
determined to terrify us into their belief system and impose it to
the detriment of our hard own democratic civil rights and replace it
with a physically repugnant form of religion.
One
question never seems to be asked. Who is financing this?
The
other is that it seems like most of the perpetrators are from he
same neighbourhood, first or second generation immigrants from
Morocco. The area bombed in this case is within walking distance and
has provided many of the foreign fighters travelling to the middle
east in Syria, Iraq and Libya.
Surely
this should have set off alarm bells with the security services of
the EU and in Belgium. Then there is the problem of how much
surveillance is too much. The problem is not that the information
means nothing, its who is doing the analysis and how do you search
through the mountains of data that is accumulated and available?
A
sad day for the world.

I turned on this morning for the two minutes of silence world wide for the carnage in Brussels
