SO
WHAT
JOURNAL
ENTRY, 30/07/2016, o5:33 hrs., PDT, Saturday, my place, its the crack
of dawn no sun yet, 19ºC and
slightly muggy,
MOOD

First
coffee on my right and my sound track set to Miles and Miles of
Miles. I have, for the last five nights, been reading “So What”
by John Szawd while listening to a library of 200 Miles Davis pieces
on my iPod. It gave me some insight to the life of an artist, I don't know if we could ever have been friends but its been an
experience to vicariously
coast
along in his wake.
Many
thanks to good friend Ron “H” both for the book and the many
disks and zip disks of Miles Davis from his earliest time until his
tragic death.
I
have never had any of the 78 acetate singles or the 45s but have
about ten of 33 1/3 Lps both iin mono an stereo and fake stereo of
the Prestige and Columbia releases most of them only listened to once
before I recorded them on cassette so they are in pristine condition.
None
of them are for sale, they will be part of my estate along with my
books for my son and daughter to dispose of. A valuable segment in
the debris of a life well lived.
Ciao,
JWL
